Three practical skill-building sessions teach inHEALTH's medical management model to improve expertise and enhance the quality of the claims decision process. Focus on minor injuries with the MIG and rehabilitation principles. Topics include: Medical/rehabilitation definitions and interpretation, Analyzing the data elements of Treatment and Assessment forms, Minor Injury & the MIG, Effective communication strategies with healthcare providers, Rehabilitation principles and use of discretion.

Session #1: Introduction to Medical Management and Healthcare Providers September 9 9:00 AM

Session #2: Rehabilitation Principles, Disability Management, and Forms September 10 9:00 AM

  1. Review of materials from Day One and Quiz
  2. Introduction to rehabilitation principles and disability management
  3. Understanding Forms; Data elements of Treatment / Assessment / Disability; Managing claims in a new system with existing form design; Validating impairment
  4. Use of Discretion with case studies
  5. Establishing a Framework for Approval; Communication with healthcare providers; File handling impacts and outcomes; Negotiation plans
  6. Wrap up

Session #3: Standards of completing a Form 1 (1/2 day) September 11 12:30 PM
