Overview

This week long training program is designed for intermediate to senior level claim adjusters who are in training for a role as a Catastrophic Accident Benefit adjuster or for legal professionals. Participants are introduced to handling catastrophic injury claims through case studies and a thorough study of the relevant sections of the Statutory Accident Benefit Schedule, governing legislation, and important interpretation of precedent cases that govern and guide claim procedures. The course content focuses on current Bill 34 legislation and transitions from Bill 198. The learning is facilitated in an adult learning environment with practical applications for ease of transfer to the workplace.

  • Issues that arise through practical applicaitons of definitions
  • Review of the "Final Report of the Catastrophic Impairment Expert Panel to the Superintendent" and relevant updates
  • Review of the "Superintendent's Report on the Definition of Catastrophic Impairment in the Statuatory Accident Benefits Schedule" and relevant updates
  • Case law interpretation
  • Catastrophic claim management
